WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

We are fortunate to have found this wonderful studio for our 6-year old grandson! Within a few weeks, we could all see how much self confidence this experience has given him. The instructors are amazing with all the kids! They are extremely patient and kind, and give each and every student plenty of individual instruction. The kids learn so much more than Aikido. They learn respect, determination, a sense of community, working with others, the importance of tradition, the reason behind what they are learning.....and so much more. The owner, Daniel Brasse Sensei is a world class trainer and has over 40 years of experience in Japanese martial arts, and the instructors are highly trained with many years of experience, as well. I highly recommend Aikido by the Bay!

I most highly recommend Aikido by the Bay classes for both adults and children. I really like training there, and my daughter does too.

I did Aikido in college, and then took a 12-year break to have kids and everything. I was so happy to find this Dojo and resume practicing again. The people there are absolutely wonderful, and passionate about Aikido.

I really like the spirit of the Dojo, everyone is friendly, cordial, and it feels like a family. Also people are serious about their practice, and come to train more than 3 times a week, which is pretty impressive, given than people have full-time jobs, kids, and families. There is also a lot of emphasis on weapons training, which in my mind is very important

I also highly recommend Sensei Daniel. He is very knowledgeable, dedicated,  and true to this martial art. He is also generous, kind-hearted, and fun person.

My 7-year old daughter also started training a month ago and she really enjoys the classes. There is a great balance of fun and focus on discipline and learning. As a parent, I am very happy that there is a wide selection of classes that she can attend, because it allows us to be flexible with our schedule.

I've trained Karate, Ninjutsu and tried different styles of Aikido. I decided to stick with Iwama Aikido, and particularly with this dojo.

Daniel Brasse Sensei is deeply committed to his students' growth and development. His teaching strikes a wonderful balance between tradition, form and emphasizing the spiritual essence of Aikido with effectiveness and applicability. The sheer number of classes available is amazing and accommodates even the busiest times. The atmosphere in the dojo is always cordial, focused, and sincere.

The Aikido by the Bay community has become part of my chosen family, and I'm grateful to have access to such a comprehensive mind-body-soul-workout.

I simply love this place - and I barely put 5 stars in my reviews. I was hesitant to start at the middle age and was impressed by the warmth atmosphere. Daniel Sensei has a unique mix of professionalism (in fact, he came from a corporate world) and a great personality. He attracted a crowd of black belts who help to teach and do their best to accommodate new people. That is why I think this place is especially good for new comers.

I have been studying various styles of martial arts for over 30 years. I am a new student to Aikido but find this the most rewarding art of the all.
I recommend this dojo and amazing sensi to any and everyone.

This is not just a place to study, be challenged, grow mentally and physically but it is a community with amazing instructors.

I was supposed to just try this Aikido by the bay and was going to check another dojo for Karate class. But I came here at first and decided I don't need to go other places. You can learn many things not only Aikido but also other too. For JAPANESE police men, Judo, Kendo are mandatory. You can learn better essence of both by Aikido. Let's join us.

Very clean and safe place to practice Aikido.
Great and respectful teachers with attention to details.

Sensei is passionate about Aikido and knows how to work with kids and adults. He sees level of every student well, and provides continuous feedback to them during training. This helps every student to practice at their ability and grow their skills as fast as they can.

This dojo is very spacious. This allows students to practice at a safe distance during pandemic.
Highly recommend to everyone.

I've been involved with martial arts most of my life. I am now 60, but still on my bucket list is Aikidō. This dōjō is near where I live, so the first place to check out even if convenient commute should not be a decisive factor. I found the Iwama style to be of my liking. But even more compelling was the Sensei. Brasse-sensei is cordial, intelligent, and very well-versed in the art at hand. I decided to look no further, and after my first month of training found this to the right decision. The frequency of classes is also a big plus, making it quite easy to fit to almost any schedule.

This is an excellent Aikido school with a strong emphasis on technically correct technique and safety. New students are welcomed regardless of prior martial arts experience, age, gender, or fitness level. The teacher here is skilled at making the lessons relevant for each student and the other students at the school leave their ego at the door.

Training at Aikido by the Bay is rewarding on so many levels! I have to say that I had never done a martial art before and started after age  (ahem) 40 just proving that anyone can start at any time! They took me right into the warm community. Practicing aikido here is. . . .  a great work out, helps with knowing self defense, it builds confidence, strength and discipline and somehow it is also meditative.  This is an extremely special place for people of all ages!

My husband and I have been training in Aikido for 11years. We are very happy with the training that Sensei Daniel Brasse provides at Aikido By The Bay. He always incorporates real world situations into our training, which I find to be very useful and what sets Aikido By The Bay apart from other martial art schools.
